Looping: Scotland Overdub

An exclusive production for Scottish Dance Theatre (UK).

LOOPING is a Brazilian street festival inspired ceilidh, re-imagined from the hit show Looping: Bahia Overdub by Felipe de Assis, Leonardo França and Rita Aquino.

With text produced in collaboration with acclaimed writer Kieran Hurley and featuring a fresh electronic dance score mixed live by Torben Lars Sylvest, costumes by Alison Brown and Timorous Beasties, and lighting by Emma Jones, Looping: Scotland Overdub celebrates the cultures and heritages of Brazil and Scotland in a political dance party.

Suitable for all ages.

Looping: Scotland Overdub is an immersive performance experience with occasional loud music, flashing lights and the audience is free to move. There is no fixed seating. Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility needs or if standing or walking for an hour is difficult for you. We are here to help make your experience comfortable.

Looping: Scotland Overdub premiered to audiences in Wick, Mull and Dundee in summer 2018. In each location, our company of dancers embarked on an artistic residency with a local community cast, culminating in a final performance for all to see.

In 2019, Looping Scotland Overdub took part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe and received with four stars in The Stage and The Scotsman.
